Residents of Israel's north and south have been directed to relocate for their safety since October 7.

The Jewish Agency's emergency aid to communities will be granted in addition to the direct aid provided by the Jewish Agency's fund for victims of terrorism to families affected by the war.

A terrorist was shot and killed after being caught near southern Ashkelon on Friday.

Immediate efforts to secure the area and check for explosive devices went underway in preparation for rescue teams to arrive and evacuate potentially injured people.

"We received with a heavy heart the news that a resident of our city was killed in a tragic accident," Ashkelon mayor said in a statement.

Nissim Nahum decided to open a restaurant called Niso The Fisherman on the marina in Ashkelon. The place is not fancy with dark wood tables and paper placemats but has a fun family vibe to it.

Many Mossad employees who attended the funeral, hid their faces behind surgical masks at the cemetery in Ashkelon.

Rockets hit a private home in Sderot in addition to two other direct hits on two residential buildings in Ashkelon. No injuries were reported.

The IDF did not turn the other cheek after Hamas and Islamic Jihad fired over 100 rockets at Israel, including Ashkelon and Sderot, but the response was relatively meek.

The hook measures 6.5 cm long and 4 cm wide and is one of the oldest to ever be discovered.
